The safe and successful completion of a major pipeline project at Invergordon has earned a total of £6,000 for four local good causes.

The money was raised through a joint incentive scheme by Global Pipelines and their client Acergy to encourage the highest standards of health, safety, environmental care.  The project, carried out towards the end of 2009 at the Global Pipelines Invergordon base, involved welding of pipeline lengths for the Deep Panuke natural gas field off Nova Scotia, Canada.

Cheques were presented to local organisations nominated by Global Pipelines workers involved in the project.  Ross-shire Riding for the Disabled Group, Highland Hospice, Children First and Moray Firth Radio Cash for Kids each received £1,500.

Scott Black, Pipelines Manager at Global Pipelines, said:  “We are delighted that through successfully completing this phase of this important project for Acergy to the highest safety, quality and environmental levels we have been able to jointly help these very worthwhile local causes.
“Because the groups that benefit are all nominated by the our personnel directly involved in the project and are close to their hearts, schemes like this really do act as a genuine incentive.  We hope to continue to help organisations and individuals in our community through similar schemes in the future.”

Later this year Global Pipelines will supply offshore welding services and for the installation of the pipeline for the Deep Panuke natural gas field, which is around 250 km south east of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
